Surfing The Nations first went to Sri Lanka in search of waves in 1998. A world-class point break was found, only surfed by a handful of local surfers. Immediately after the devastating tsunami of 2004, one of these surfers called STN asking for help. Joining the relief effort connected STN to the families and surfers whose lives were changed forever. Today, that connection runs strong. We still send annual trips of volunteers filled with surfing, adventure, community development and "surfers giving back." We've also launched a family into full-time service and seen them thrive as they love on the community of Arugam Bay. Our Surf Art & The Surfer Art Festival has become the annual gathering place for some of Oahu’s top and emerging artists. This epic weekend is jam-packed with artists, musicians and vendors from all over the island, including Mark Brown, Luke DeKneef and Ron Artis II. Each night includes live art, live music, vendors, food trucks, special guests and more. Thanks to Cobian Footwear (cobianusa.com) for being one of our official sponsors for this event. 10% of all the proceeds from this festival goes towards Surfing The Nations children’s program and building STN's new Community Outreach Training Center. This center will be the new home for classrooms, a dance studio and a food distribution center. Learn more at www.surfingthenations.com (Song: 10,000 Emerald Pools by BØRNS)
